Summary

The Accounting Specialist II (Payroll) position is responsible for accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll and issuing pay and pay-related information to employees.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Compiles and sorts documents such as timekeeping information and payroll records.
  • Verifies and posts details of weekly timekeeping entries, payroll, and tax documents.
  • Audits for compliance of internal policies and procedures, and external agency requirements.
  • Complete all data necessary for reports/verifications requested by authorized agencies.
  • Process all tip compliance forms and PTO requests.
  • Reconciles weekly payroll totals to third party reporting
  • Approve and finalize the weekly payroll when Payroll Manager is out of office.
  • Assist Payroll Manager with reports, journal entries, and miscellaneous projects.
  • Act as the first point of contact when issues and questions arise in the payroll office.
  • With explicit direction from the Payroll Manager, directs the work of the payroll staff.
  • Provide managers, supervisors, and employees with additional payroll information as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all payroll information.
  • Provides great guest service and displays the R.I.C.H. values of Cache Creek Casino Resort to all employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directs the work of others in the department at the discretion of accounting management.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Three years related experience and/or training; bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education. Must have intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Must have large payroll system experience such as UKG Pro.

 

Age Requirement

Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must read, write and speak the English language fluently.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
